BINARYSTAR Launches in Japan as Country’s Largest Blockchain Business Hub

BINARYSTAR, a one-stop business hub that specializes in all services related to blockchain, officially launched on February 1st, 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.

Yuhi Ikegami, President and CEO of BINARYSTAR, chaired the opening of Japan’s largest firm dedicated to providing services related to blockchain technology. The opening ceremony saw celebrities in the blockchain and tech industry, as well as investors, developers, and representatives from leading companies nationwide gathering to exchange views on trends in this emerging industry.

A keynote speech was delivered at the event, where over 300 people attended to hear talks on the potential of blockchain technology for businesses in the “Business x Law x Technology: Next-Generation Business Model Realized by Blockchain” session. Participants were also caught up on recent movements in the industry, with talks given on “Development Method of Unknown Areas Using Regulatory Sandboxes” and “Creating New Businesses Using Blockchain Technology.”

BINARYSTAR Missions and Services

BINARYSTAR aims to support businesses in applying blockchain by providing technological, legal, and business insights; to accelerate blockchain usage by connecting businesses together; and to lead the world in blockchain utilization and contribute to improving Japan’s global competitiveness.

One example of BINARYSTAR’s services is the roundtable talks, a valuable platform where issues regarding blockchain implementation are discussed as a way for BINARYSTAR to facilitate full-fledged blockchain implementation to launch new and powerful businesses. The newly launched office is designed to inspire collaboration and is located in Ginza, in the heart of Tokyo, to welcome blockchain developers from around the world. BINARYSTAR hosts Japan’s largest blockchain co-working space over an area of 1,000 sq.m. Customers can choose from 16 private offices for 4 to 6 people or 176 open-space hot desks, all equipped with the latest security facilities. The space also houses an event hall that can accommodate over 200 people.


BINARYSTAR is aimed at providing total business solutions for all companies that are looking to adopt blockchain technology as part of their businesses. Leading the team at BINARYSTAR is President and CEO Yuhi Ikegami. At the age of 18, Ikegami participated in the launch of a community-led blockchain. Since then, he has been involved in designing and planning various blockchain projects, as well as the establishment of a voluntary regulatory body, the only body that has been approved by Singapore’s government.

Meanwhile, Advisor and Incubation Manager Yuji Akaba is a graduate of Tokyo University’s Faculty of Engineering and from Stanford University. Akaba has a long and successful history of managing companies for over 30 years and has authored 17 books in Japan and 16 books worldwide, including Zero Second Thinking.

Integral to the BINARYSTAR team is Incubation Manager and Lawyer Takayuki Igaki, a graduate of Kyoto University’s Law Faculty. In addition to the legal services centering on corporate legal affairs, he has also worked as a systems engineer in core system development.
