Singaporean Blockchain Startups to Watch

Singapore is a major hub for blockchain entrepreneurs, with over 400 blockchain startups in the country. These highlighted projects, among others, are making a difference in the industry.

In 2018, Sentinel Protocol was introduced as a threat intelligence platform using blockchain technology to crowdsource security solutions and investigate incidents relating to scams, hacks, and fraud, with the goal of enhancing the security of crypto assets. The same year, TOP Network launched as a cloud communication network, offering services from IoT data sharing, VPN, and CDN to messaging and calls using a blockchain-enabled platform to facilitate businesses.  

In 2017, Aelf began as a leading startup many had called the “Linux ecosystem for blockchain,” boasting a self-evolving cloud computing network that can provide communication services on a multi-chain parallel-processing system.

In the area of cryptocurrency, renown payment system TenX (formerly OneBitwhich) has the TenX wallet, which supports different types of cryptocurrencies that can be used in nearly 200 countries, both online and offline, bridging the gap between crypto and cash.

For gold traders, Digix offered a platform that offered multiple services, including fintech, trading, financial services, and cybersecurity, as well as one of the most popular gold trading platforms in the country.

One of the world’s most rapid-growing crypto exchanges, KuCoin, is ranked 49th in the world in terms of trade value (US$23.9 million), and reports over five million registered users. Meanwhile, Kryptos-X provides a digital asset market platform that lets users carry out transactions using a wide range of digital assets and currencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ripple (XRP).
